Tyler Horst has stepped down as the Head Coach of the J.P. McCaskey Baseball Team. He has served as head coach for the last seven years. “Honestly just a personal decision and it is the right time. I'm Thankful for the opportunity.”
Horst says his biggest excitement was having several players getting the opportunity to play at the next level. Also he mentioned the 2018 and 2019 seasons when the baseball team made the District Playoffs. The 2018 season was super special when they won a home District Playoff game with a walk off home run by Alex Domingo in extra innings. “Getting the opportunity to win a home playoff game was super special for the baseball team,” Horst said.
Horst mentioned that he will miss the players and coaches and the relationships he developed with them over the years. Horst was hired at 24 years old and led the McCaskey baseball team for seven years, he is not done coaching and will look for future opportunities in coaching. Horst concluded “I love the sport of baseball and I enjoyed this opportunity”.
